We’re proud of our testbed at Brobygrafiska. Over the course of the year, we’ve had a multitude of different projects that have continually paved the way for new innovation opportunities. We’ve been able to offer our clients an objective and qualitative analysis platform, and its performance can be judged on a number of interchangeable parameters relating to the machines at their disposal.
At the heart of the school you’ll find our Fischer & Krecke 6S-8/Bobst. This is an eight-colour CI flexo press capable of both front and reverse side printing, that can use both water and solvent-based colour inks. It is equipped with an Eltromat video 3000, Bobst Insetter Duplex Unit and a doctor blade chamber. We also have a Bobst Smart GPS mounting machine.
Printing Hall 2
Just down the stairs we have our Rotova 300. This monochrome printing press can do flexo printing but also has an engraving cylinder. It’s a real workhorse which is incredibly well-suited to rigorously testing doctor blade steel or ink chemistry, but also to other kinds of endurance testing.
In the same room, we have top-of-the-range machines for small-scale colour testing, measurement and documentation, which can also manage the most common test criteria for fibre-based materials like cardboard. For those of you interested in a pre-packed solution, we can also offer full-scale testing with our Bosch filling machine which features two different tubes corresponding to two different sizes, optimised for plastic materials.

Colour samples and 3D models
Given sufficient documentation, we can create a visualisation and preview of the printed product. Our prepress printer, an Epson SureColor P7500, can print an accurately verified colour sample using GMG software. A printing profile can be simulated against a print profile, Pantone reference or colour standard. We can also prepare 3D materials with the help of design drawings and provide you with a preview before your test print.
Certified colour knowledge
Brobygrafiska has extensive colour management knowledge as well as G7-certified knowledge. Once we’ve performed our calibrations, the profile prints will be right there at your fingertips. Just as we can adapt and complete designs to fit the flexographic printing process, we’re also here to respond to enquiries about reproductions using other printing methods. We gladly follow ISO standards as often as possible, but of course we can also work according to your own standards.
This hall is also where we prepare thermal plates and run the HD Flexo. At present, we have an Esko CDI 2548 for laser printing, a DuPont FAST 1000D for thermal plate processing, a recent generation MacDermid LAVA NW for thermal plate production, and a DuPont Exposure Unit.
Prototype production with digital printing
Like this wasn´t suppose to be enough, we can also offer test runs using our Canon Arizona 1360 GT digital UV ink-jet printer. Its large format bed is capable of handling sizes of up to 2500x1250x45, and will print on everything from worktops to thin metal laminations. On top of this, we also have a Kongsberg cutting table capable of cutting and creasing cardboard or paperboard.
Brobygrafiska helped us produce a short packaging series, doing so with great commitment and professionalism. After a conversation over the phone, we stood there later that day fine-tuning the prototypes, both prints and structural designs, before running a faultless production the next day. The result was stunning, and we appreciated the quick production and delivery process!”

“Here at PrimeBlade Sweden AB in Sunne, we work in the development, production and sale of high-quality doctor blades and have benefitted greatly from both the printing press performing abrasion tests, and the expertise of the team at Brobygrafiska. Since the printing press at Brobygrafiska is fully kitted-out and on a par with those of other printing houses around the world, the tests that have been carried out so far have contributed to the relevant life-expectancy appraisals for the various products on offer. Proximity to the school (just a few minutes’ walk away) obviously made working together a lot easier.”
